New Construction

Pre-Wire Before the Walls Close

The window to run wire cleanly is the framing stage — before the drywall goes up. One coordinated pass covers theater, audio, automation, security, and networking.

Labeled structured wiring routed through open wall studs during new construction

There is a window in every new construction project when the infrastructure for a truly capable home is easy, inexpensive, and clean to install. That window is the stud stage — after framing, before drywall.

Once the walls close, that window closes with them.

Running wire through finished walls is possible. It costs significantly more. It requires patching, painting, and sometimes opening walls in rooms you've already finished. The pathways are compromised. The result is never as clean. And some things — in-wall speakers, in-ceiling lighting control wire, properly routed conduit for the theater room — become impractical to retrofit without major disruption.

The homeowners who regret their AV decisions are almost never the ones who over-invested at the framing stage. They are the ones who waited.

What a Whole-Home Pre-Wire Actually Covers

A new construction pre-wire is not a single service. It is a coordinated pass through your entire home — every room, every ceiling, every wall penetration — run before the drywall crew arrives. Here is what we design and install in that pass:

Home Theater Infrastructure Conduit and pathways for projector, screen, and amplification runs. Speaker wire for front stage, surrounds, ceiling Atmos channels. HDMI and control wire from equipment rack to display. Dedicated circuit coordination with your electrician.

Whole-Home and Multi-Room Audio In-ceiling and in-wall speaker wire to every room, zone, and outdoor area you want covered. One run at framing costs less than one retrofit later.

Home Automation and Lighting Control Low-voltage wire for Lutron-class lighting control, climate control interfaces, motorized shade rough-in, and automation keypads. These runs are invisible in finished walls; they are trivial to route before the drywall is up.

Security and Surveillance Door and window sensor wiring, motion detector positioning, camera conduit and power runs, doorbell video wire. Designed to the security plan, not patched in afterward.

Networking Infrastructure Cat6A home-run runs to every room, media closet, and access point location. Properly distributed networking is the backbone everything else depends on. It is also the component most often under-specified.

Smart Home Control Wiring for touchpad locations, in-wall control surfaces, and the equipment room where automation processors, amplifiers, and networking gear will live together — fed, ventilated, and accessible.

What We Do at Each Construction Phase

Pre-Design Consultation (before permits, ideally) We review your architectural plans and walk through what each room needs. We flag conflicts before they become problems — a theater room on the wrong wall, a media room with no equipment closet, speaker locations that fight the framing. This is the cheapest conversation you'll have in the entire project.

Framing Stage (the primary window) We run every wire, every conduit, every rough-in box while the walls are open. This is the work that matters. We coordinate with your general contractor so our schedule fits theirs. We mark and label every run for the finishing crew.

Drywall and Finish Stage We return to pull wire to final locations, install rough-in brackets and boxes, and confirm that every run is landed correctly before the finishers close in around it.

Trim-Out and Commissioning After your home is painted and flooring is in, we install equipment, terminate every run, configure all systems, and test everything. We calibrate your theater. We program your lighting scenes. We walk every family member through how to use each system.

Final Handoff — The Grandma Guarantee Before we leave, everyone in your home knows how to use it. Every button. Every screen. The least tech-comfortable person in the household should feel at ease from day one.

Why This Matters More in a Luxury Home

A 4,000-square-foot custom home on a Pocono lake is not a track home. The theater room has real acoustics worth investing in. The great room deserves audio that fills it correctly. The master suite benefits from lighting control that responds the way you actually live. The whole property may have guest quarters, a pool house, an outdoor entertaining area — each of which becomes trivial to cover during new construction and a genuine project afterward.

At this scale, the infrastructure investment at the framing stage is typically between two and five percent of your total build budget. The value it protects — in retrofit labor, wall damage, and capability you simply cannot add cleanly — is many times that.

We Work with Your Builder and Architect

You should not have to manage the coordination between your AV integrator and your general contractor. We handle it. We show up when your schedule requires, work within your builder's sequencing, and communicate directly with whoever is managing the site.

If your builder has not worked with an AV integrator on the framing schedule before, we can walk them through what we need and when. It is a straightforward coordination — most GCs are glad to have it handled cleanly.

We provide a written pre-wire specification that your builder can keep in the project file. If you are working with an architect, we can review plans at the design stage and provide annotated notes on what each room needs.
