Pure Sight & Sound is a custom AV integration firm based in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. We design and install home theaters, home acoustics, whole-home automation, golf simulators, and commercial AV systems — primarily for homeowners building or owning luxury residences in the Poconos, and for the builders and architects who construct them.
We have been doing this work in Monroe County and the surrounding region for two decades.
Meet Ed Kmetz
Ed Kmetz founded Pure Sight & Sound. Before he did, he spent 15 years in international engineering and sales, working across Asia, Canada, and Mexico. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
That background shapes how he approaches every project. A materials engineer understands how rooms behave — how sound travels through, reflects from, and is absorbed by the surfaces and structures in a space. Ed does not estimate acoustics. He measures them.
It also shapes how he talks to clients. Ed explains what he is doing and why. He does not sell systems. He recommends what performs best in your specific room and at your investment level, and he explains the reasoning. Clients consistently describe this in their reviews: the advice is honest, the knowledge is real, the result matches what was promised.
Why We Are Manufacturer-Independent
Most AV integrators have preferred brand relationships that influence what they recommend. We do not work that way.
We are manufacturer-independent. We work with leading brands including Lutron, Elan, and Sonance, and we specify the products that perform best in each room and at each budget. We will never recommend a brand because of margin. If a different choice performs better for your space and your budget, that is what we recommend.
This is a direct consequence of Ed's engineering background: the work is evaluated on performance, not on incentive.

Every system Pure Sight & Sound installs is set up and explained so that any family member can use it — including the least tech-comfortable person in the household.
Before we leave your home, we walk everyone through the system. Every button. Every screen. Every scene or function they are likely to use. If someone is not comfortable, we are not done.
This is not a marketing concept. It is how Ed thinks about the work. A system that requires ongoing technical support to operate is not a well-designed system. The goal is that your home works for your family — completely and independently — from the day we finish.

Ed leads every project from initial consultation through final calibration and handoff. Oz and Tim handle installation. Ann manages the office and client communication. Every person on the team understands what the Grandma Guarantee means — the job is not done until the client is comfortable.
