PURE SIGHT& SOUND

Builders & Architects

The AV Partner Your Clients Will Thank You For

We work directly with your schedule and project team. Pre-wire specification, site coordination, and written scope for every new construction project.

Your clients are building the home they have worked toward. When the theater is calibrated, the lighting responds the way they envisioned, and everything works the first time — they credit the team who built it. When any of those systems fail or fall short, the same team absorbs that reputation.

An AV integrator engaged at the framing stage protects the project and the relationship. Pure Sight & Sound has been doing exactly that in the Poconos and surrounding region for two decades.

Why the Framing Stage Is the Right Time

Most builders have seen the alternative: an AV company called in after the home is finished, running wire through finished walls, patching drywall, compromising pathways. The result is a retrofit that costs more than a pre-wire, looks less clean, and rarely achieves the capability the homeowner expected.

When we are involved at framing:

  • Every wire run is clean, properly routed, and labeled before the walls close.
  • There are no surprises in the equipment room — the space, ventilation, and power are designed in.
  • The theater room is positioned, dimensioned, and framed for acoustics rather than retrofitted around structure.
  • Your finish crew works around infrastructure that is already in the wall, not through it.
  • The homeowner gets the whole-home capability they paid for — theater, automation, audio, security, networking — as a designed system, not a set of additions.

Engaging us early does not slow your schedule. We coordinate with your timeline and sequence our work to fit yours. Most GCs find the coordination straightforward once we've done it together once.

What We Provide for the Project File

Pre-Wire Specification Document A written room-by-room specification covering wire types, quantities, and rough-in requirements for every system: theater, multi-room audio, automation, lighting control, security, and networking. Your framing and electrical subs work from the same document we do.

Architectural Plan Review If you share the plans before framing, we annotate them with AV-relevant notes: equipment room sizing, theater room orientation, in-ceiling speaker and lighting control locations, conduit routing suggestions, and any structural conflicts worth resolving in design rather than in the field.

On-Site Framing Coordination We show up at the framing stage, walk the site with your superintendent or project manager, confirm locations, and run the rough-in. We mark and photograph every run before the drywall crew arrives.

Builder Reference Checklist A one-page field checklist your superintendent can use to confirm AV rough-in is complete before drywall closes. Useful for projects where we are not on-site during every phase.

Download the Pre-Wire Planning Checklist — available as a PDF for your project files. Covers room-by-room infrastructure requirements for theaters, automation, audio, security, and networking. Leave a name and email and we'll send it directly.

What Your Clients Get

Your clients are high-net-worth professionals who have thought carefully about this home. They want a theater that performs. They want lighting that responds the way they designed their life. They want to hand their home to their family — including the least technical person in the household — and have it work.

Ed Kmetz holds a degree in Materials Engineering from Drexel University and spent 15 years in international engineering and sales before founding Pure Sight & Sound. The recommendations your clients receive are grounded in engineering, not in product margin. Manufacturer-independent — we recommend what performs best in the space, not what we are most incentivized to sell.

Before we leave any installation, we walk every family member through every system. Every button. Every screen. It is a promise we make to every client: anyone in the household can use what we built. We call it the Grandma Guarantee.
